2011 - Present

Stay-at-Home Parent

Guided by science, research, and love, I lead my family of 5 through the tumult of daily life. I provide nourishment, promote good hygiene, maintain inventory of snack foods and art supplies, organize schedules, plan transportation, advocate for general safety, & administer first aid.

Accounting Clerk

PacifiCap Properties Group

  • Assisted a team of 3 accountants with updating the General Ledger, transitioning to a modern web-based accounting system from an antiquated system based in MS-DOS, reviewing and paying out for expense reports, reviewing and paying out property expenses and utilities, data entry, in-person and online banking, post office business, and paper file management.

  • Orchestrated a large-scale expired document shredding event. All paper files older than 7 years needed to be destroyed. Outdated files had not previously been shredded, so I took the lead on researching vendors, scheduling, and prepping all files that needed to be shredded. This freed up valuable space in the storage area so that a brewpub and coffee house could be added to the first floor of the building.

1999 - 2005

Shift Supervisor

Starbucks Coffee Company

  • I held the title of Key Learning Coach which meant that any new employees at my store (or sometimes other stores) came to me to learn how to make coffee and be the best Partner they could be.

  • Being a Coffee Master meant that I had to have a rich knowledge of the coffees and foods available from Starbucks. I earned the title by creating a unique coffee pairing and tasting for our district manager.

  • While working at the flagship store in Portland, OR, I supervised the shift that scored 20-year-old store its very first 100% & 5-star customer snapshot. That's a testament to practicing top-tier customer service, and encouraging co-workers to do the same.
